BIOGRAPHY
Daniel Pilkington is a British Italian pianist, composer, and songwriter.
Born in 2002, Daniel Pilkington is an accomplished and forward-thinking pianist who is passionate about making a change through his music. He attended the Royal Academy of Music (UK) for part of his undergraduate studies where he studied piano and keyboard under Professor Ian Fountain. His diverse performing repertoire includes Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto (“Emperor”), Schumann’s Kreisleriana, and Stravinsky’s Sonata for Piano. He has given recitals in numerous UK venues such as Pushkin House and St John's Smith Square, and has been invited internationally to play at the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons at the Aegina International Music Festival, Greece. He has also worked alongside the charities Samaritans and Afghan Aid, where he helped to raise money for the persistent problems of suicide and women trapped in oppressive states.
Just having completed his BSc Mathematics at Warwick University, UK, he still actively pursues his musical interests which include both composing and performing. He enjoys working together with singers, classical and modern, and has experience performing on the live stage. Godiva Festival 2023 (Coventry, UK) was a recent highlight, where he played the keys alongside upcoming artist Cosmos Zero. Last year, he acted as Head of Artistic Development for Warwick Creatives and helped to use his position to support and encourage the lives and development of young musicians.
